The GESS teaching faculty is growing with new additions of teachers, from all around the globe, who have made the decision to be part of our vision and work. It goes without saying that teachers are an integral part of any school so we are very much delighted to have these new teachers, their perspectives and expertise. Here is an introduction to our new Primary School Teachers and new counsellor.
Carolin studied at the University of Education in Ludwigsburg and Nuertringen (2014-2019). She has previously worked at GESS as a teaching assistant for half a year.

Christoph studied at the University of Teacher Education Zug. He has 3 years of experience in teaching grades 4 to 6.

Emily moved to Singapore at the age of 13 and graduated with the IBDP from an international school. She has since attained a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from James Cook University and taught at Winstedt School in Singapore since 2018.

Friederike holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University in Osnabrück. She has previously worked in the capacity of co-homeroom teacher and since last year has experience being a Grade 3 homeroom teacher.

Julia brings with her 10 years of teaching experience from a broad range of schools, including a special needs school.

Mary has years of international experience in Singapore, Australia, Canada and Vietnam. She has a Master’s in Education (Special Education) from the University of Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University (Canada). She has experience teaching children from grades 1 to 6 and since 2003, has also gained experience in EAL/Learning Support.

Monika started her career in marketing and then switched to education. She has 10 years of experience teaching German, 4 of these were spent at UWC SEA Singapore.

Sarah has a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) degree from University of South Australia and Bachelor of Arts (Education) degree from Nanyang Technological University. She has worked as a primary school teacher for 11 years from 2008 to 2018.

Tomas spent his high school years in Chile where he also completed a Psychology Degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Later, he relocated to the US and worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Santa Fe. He has 16 years of experience with expertise in trauma and anxiety related disorders. He spent the last 3 years at the Stamford American International School, Singapore.

Luisa attained a Master of Education (Primary and Secondary Level) degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Journalism from the University of Hamburg. She has previously completed international teaching stints in Montreal and New York City before teaching full-time in Hamburg.
