After months of hard work, dedicated collaboration and innovation, last Academic Year, GESS students bagged the well-deserved second prize for digital excellence at the IHK competition organised by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the patronage of the German Federal Foreign Minister. The students entered the competition with their project titled “On Digital Tracks”, built upon the concept of education in the digital world and this put them ahead of their fellow competitors from all over the world.
The achievement came with impressive prize money and the honour of receiving the award from the German Ambassador to Singapore, Dr. Riedel and Mr Jens Rübbert, President of the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SGC), during an award ceremony on campus this month.
Mr Rübbert highlighted the achievements of the project at GESS: “I think, you acquired life skills during this project, and most importantly, you showed students worldwide how to move safely and responsibly in the digital world.”
German Ambassador Dr Riedel commented that he “would wish that all students could have such an outstanding learning experience. This generation grows up with extensive use of digital media and it is very important to understand the advantages and pitfalls of this environment.”
