GESS Alumni Gathering 2024

All smiles as our Alumni meet up for the yearly Alumni gathering. It was a great time of networking and camaraderie as old and new alumni of GESS reunited.  

In early June, we had the pleasure of organising two alumni gatherings in Germany – one in Munich, which was attended by over 40 GESS alumni and friends, and another in Aachen, which brought together 25 participants. These events brought together alumni from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s as well as current graduates. The atmosphere was truly heart-warming, and it was wonderful to see how much they all had in common – their love for GESS, their affection for Singapore and their shared experiences as Third Culture Kids (TCK), re-adjusting to life in Europe especially among people who do not share this unique background.

Apart from our Alumni also previous parents and previous staff members participated and shared cherished memories at GESS and formed new connections. In Aachen even our highly respected former principal, Torsten Steininger joined the reunion. It was heartwarming to witness the GESS community spirit and the strong bonds among everyone, even those meeting for the first time.

At GESS, there is that common bond that brings Alumni together as a community despite coming from different locations. This camaraderie was visible to everyone who was there at the reunion. Big smiles and laughter filled the place as the Alumni interacted with one another. The unity and sharing of the same values and experiences make this Alumni community gathering special. Wrapping up the night, the attendees receive some giveaways for being part of the memorable reunion.
